An Administration-Wide Response to the
Drought
Throughout much of the country, communities
are struggling with one of the worst droughts to strike the U.S. in decades.
And President Obama has directed the federal government -- from the U.S.
Department of Agriculture to the Army Corps of Engineers -- to provide
assistance to farmers, ranchers, and small businesses wrestling with this
crisis.
The President has described this as an
"all-hands-on-deck response." Yesterday, he said, "We're going
to continue to solicit ideas from state and local organizations, faith-based
organizations, not-for-profit groups, the private sector, and most of all, the
farmers and ranchers that are directly impacted, to find additional ways that
we can help -- because when there’s a disaster like this, everybody needs to
pull together."

Mencari Inspirasi Juara-Juara Perubahan . . .
Awal tahun ini, Presiden Obama menyambut ulang tahun ke satu tahun (one year anniversary) program Juara-Juara Perubahan dengan membawa bersama-sama sekumpulan Juara-Juara untuk mendengar tentang kerja yang mereka lakukan untuk memajukan masyarakat mereka.
White House telah menciptakan Juara-Juara program Perubahan (Champions of Change) untuk mengenal pasti dan melibatkan Amerika setiap hari yang menerajui inisiatif yang luar biasa untuk mengukuhkan komuniti mereka. Kerja mereka menjangkau merentasi bidang-bidang seperti tenaga boleh diperbaharui, teknologi inovatif, belia dan keganasan rumah tangga, integrasi imigresen, infrastruktur, pendidikan, hak sama rata dan penjagaan kesihatan. Program ini mengiktiraf kejayaan mereka dan usaha ke arah pembangunan dan diplomasi dengan komuniti mereka. Dalam berkongsi cerita-cerita yang luar biasa Juara-Juara ini, saya berharap lain mendapati mereka sumber inspirasi dan inovasi seperti yang saya ada. Finding Inspiration in the Champions of Change . . .
Earlier this year, President Obama celebrated the one year anniversary of the Champions of Change program by bringing together a group of Champions to hear about the work they are doing to advance their communities.
The White House created the Champions of Change program to identify and engage everyday Americans who are leading extraordinary initiatives to strengthen their communities. Their work spans across areas such as renewable energy, innovative technology, youth and domestic violence, immigration integration, infrastructure, education, equal rights and healthcare. This program recognizes their successes and efforts toward the development of - and diplomacy with - their communities. In sharing the incredible stories of these Champions, I hope others find in them a source of inspiration and innovation as I have. Check out this video for a quick snapshot of the program:
